Ceremonial Hojicha Canisters

$35.00

Hojicha, a roasted green tea, is made specifically from the stems of Tencha which is the raw ingredient for Matcha. Hojicha is known for a sweet, earthy, and toasty flavor, as the roasting process creates a nutty, smoky profile while the stems and veins are separated from the leaf. This results in a less bitter tea with a unique umami sweetness, and can be served hot or iced.

Origin: Nisho, Japan

Storage: Similar to matcha, hojicha is a very delicate, stone ground powder. Proper storage is important to optimize its freshness and quality.

Hojicha is ideally stored in the refrigerator or freezer. If not available, store in a cool, dry place away from direct light.

Store tightly sealed in the original packaging.

Serving Suggestions: Add 1-2 tsp of hojicha to 2oz of hot water (ideally 175°), whisk vigorously. Add whisked hojicha to 8-10oz of hot water and enjoy! Alternatively, add whisked hojicha to cold or steamed milk to create the latte of your choice.
